You can never complain when you’re given an excuse to create robot suits! Originally onboard for concept design, I also ended up animating on what turned out to be a great wee spot even on a tight turnaround.

Animated sequence as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. A great excuse to show of New Zealand’s landscape, especially as a follow-up to “Twin Galaxies”. Pretty daunting to be creating something for such an event and such a massive audience, but definitely worth it.

There’s plenty of possible interpretations for this video, I’ve got my own, but I’ll let people make of it what they will. In the end, it’s simply a personal story on a massive scale.
