Animated sequence as part of the Opening Ceremony of the 2011 Rugby World Cup. A great excuse to show of New Zealand’s landscape, especially as a follow-up to “Twin Galaxies”. Pretty daunting to be creating something for such an event and such a massive audience, but definitely worth it.
A bonus still from Twin Galaxies, used to promote the recent Shapeshifter tour.
An idea I’ve been waiting ten years to have an excuse to create – seeing a giant stomping it’s way around the New Zealand landscape.
The music video for ‘Twin Galaxies’, from Shapeshifter’s 2010 album ‘The System is a Vampire’.
There’s plenty of possible interpretations for this video, I’ve got my own, but I’ll let people make of it what they will. In the end, it’s simply a personal story on a massive scale.
Aaaaaahhhhh… Sometimes it’s actually fun to be blatantly soppy. This animation was commissioned by The Blush Response as a show-opener, to ease the audience into their brand of over-the-top synth-tronica. Venus, Mars, and In-btween.
Yes, that’s the way we spell it.
Welcome to the Underground. The environment for my background project ‘Nuut’ – this is a concept scene of a typical neighbourhood. Apartments, a cafe/venue, and a bottomless pit. Like an early 20th century Paris, where everything is made of metal and the sun never shines.
The Taffeta, a popular bar housed inside a strange, hanging structure. This is a matte painting used in a proof-of-concept animation for the project.
