The planetarium dome show I’ve been working on as part of the OHU Domes collective now has international distribution! A sequence of three Māori legends, intended to give people a taste of how Māori understood the night sky. For international licences, contact Spitz Creative https://www.spitzcreativemedia.com/ and in New Zealand contact the Auckland Stardome https://www.stardome.org.nz/show/matariki-dawn/
360 degree and flat trailers for the show, here for your perusal:
Spent the majority of 2018 working on this show – really enjoyed the change of focus. Worked in the Story/Previs department, helping to develop and refine scenes alongside director Bruce Carter.
Over the past few years I’ve been working with these ridiculous birds, getting to perform against some great voice work from Sam Neill and Bryan Brown. Character animation by Mister Pitt for Blockhead.
Dreamy new music video for Rhian Sheehan. Designed and directed by Matt Pitt, with a fantastic performance from Hannah Tasker-Poland.
Time for a fresh reel! (And a bit of a name tweak) A breakdown of all the projects below – but as you can see, there’s a been a lot of dancing and animals in the last few years!
Quilton – Cupid from FINCH on Vimeo.
This has really been a year of dance. Huge amount of fun to create this one, it’s just so dang cute.
Directed by Alex Roberts, at Finch. 3D by redkidOne.
Joel Kefali – Steinlager ‘Tokyo Dry’ from Goodoil Films on Vimeo.
Anyone who knows me at all will get how this tvc covers pretty much everything I love!
Directed by Joel Kefali. Post-production at Palace. 3D by redkidOne & co.
Here’s a shiny new reel of work, concentrating on character generalist and animation direction work.
Breakdown:
Hella lotta fun working on this one. Quite amazing to work with so many well-known properties – and getting to animate grumpy, cigar-smoking aliens is one of those things that reminds you that animation isn’t a real job. Sorry kids.
Now normally I just handle character work on these kinds of commercial projects, but for this I also looked after texturing, lighting and rendering all of the 3D assets. And this time I’m pretty pleased how they turned out.
Cheers to Beryl for bringing me onboard this ride.
