…eating his cake, too.
Fun wee job via Beryl. Ironically spent the week of my birthday making hundreds of birthday candles, among other tasty things!

Hella lotta fun working on this one. Quite amazing to work with so many well-known properties – and getting to animate grumpy, cigar-smoking aliens is one of those things that reminds you that animation isn’t a real job. Sorry kids.
Now normally I just handle character work on these kinds of commercial projects, but for this I also looked after texturing, lighting and rendering all of the 3D assets. And this time I’m pretty pleased how they turned out.
Cheers to Beryl for bringing me onboard this ride.
The second of the supremely odd but hilarious Co-operative Bank TVCs via Blockhead. Another object lesson in ‘less-is-more”, which is strangely a lot harder than it seems.
This one was all about the less-is-more approach. Bryan needed to exude menace, but if you’ve ever seen a real croc, you know they don’t really move much.
Until they bite your arm off.
Made with the kids at Blockhead.
Part two of the Impending Adorations diptych. It’s actually pretty joyful creating visuals of flying through the clouds, like some daylight lucid dream!
So, I got talked out of music video retirement, and this gorgeous piece is the result. I had fantastic fun creating this underwater dance – this whole video has a look I’ve been trying to acheive for years.
“The Best Is Yet To Come” by The Impending Adorations. Directed and animated by redkidOne. Lyra model by Matthew Tan, textured by Kara Vandeleur.
Motion graphics reel for 2014.
Packed with fun little gags, just how I like my TVCs. via Blockhead.
Oh Simon the Sloth, you’re a cute wee fellow to animate. via Kaleidoscope.
More Nuut concept art! This time for Oort, Nuut’s troublesome brother. As you can see, he’s kind of the steampunk version of a hipster, a hodge-podge of whatever is cool. But not too cool…
